Not quite WOYWW!

Having been away for a long weekend in Birmingham, shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping, I have nothing to show for WOYWW, so as I promised to show OCD Dolly the cake I made for GrandDaughter's birthday, I thought today would be as good a day as any :)
It was made by me, and most of the decoration was done by me (with a little help from Tray Bake Dolly) OK, so it was not technically on my work desk as it actually took over the whole of the kitchen, but I am still proud of it :) Pink and glittery though it is!
There was a phone call a couple of weeks before her Birthday and I was asked, in a way that only little girls can do when they would like something, to make her cake, so not being either a baker or cake maker, I hedged and asked what she wanted. Tangled came the reply, tangled? Does not compute, seems it is Rapunzel. Ok thinks I, round cakes piled on top of each other and a small figure looking out of a window, easy (ish), so I agree to make it. THEN I discover that what is really wanted is the FIGURE of Rapunzel! EEEEEEEK!!!!! Several heart attacks later I calm down enough to ring Tray Bake Dolly to find out how on earth I am going to get myself out of this pickle, once again she saved my bacon and GrandDaughter thinks that Nan is marvelous :)

WOYWW

Finally made it to post on the lovely Julia's blog again, and today we will look through the round window!

Flowers, flowers and just a few more flowers! My glue gun and I have a very love/hate relationship, it loves to burn me and I hate it! Not too bad today so far, only one blister, but with the blue bag in the background full of flowers, as yet without gems or backs there is still plenty of time!

Another New Year..........

........and again I have decided that I will be a better blogger!

Since September there has been a reason that I have been quiet, I went on holiday to Donegal and bought some wool, with this wool I made some hats and gave some of them away. Next I was convinced to take them to a few Craft Fairs and sell some, a few turned into a lot, now I am selling hats and flower brooches every week at a market in Belfast! I have even been interviewed for Scandinavian TV, seems people like the idea of Irish yarn :)

Another Sad Post

On the 17th December I had to say another farewell. This time to my best friend and shadow of 15 years.
Smith you were one of a kind, the hardest thing I have ever done was helping you take that last journey. Go now and play with your friends old and new at the Rainbow Bridge and when the tears stop, I will remember all the good times, funny times and the wonderful journey we had together.

WOYWW

Another lot of weeks gone by, where does all the time go to?
Well this week has been another get together day, with moi as host, so no one who knows me will be surprised to know that we made mini books, from file folders that M didn't know he had lying around, well I hope he didn't know, as he now has quite a few less than he did before we started transforming them! The idea came from Cloth Paper Scissors and as is usually the way, all turned out differently, and of course, gorgeous! Then before we knew it, time bet us and it was 4.30 in the afternoon. Not bad from a 10.30 am start lol.

J did exceptionally well as she is not a paper crafter and was totally chuffed with her book, so much so that she even brought it to our textile class tonight to show it off! Hers is the one on the right using BG Periphery papers. L by this time had darted off to collect children from the school run, so her book will have to be shown another time.

Another Sad Day

Today was another sad one here, our remaining cat Billy went to the vet for treatment for a sore on his back that would not heal any other way than surgery. Sadly he had blood work done and was found to have feline aids, so went to sleep.

Sleep well Billy, see you at the Rainbow Bridge.
